Take your PS3 controller and use the directional pad to select "Custom" from the options in the main menu of the PS3. Set up the Internet connection on the PC, and plug the PS3 into the other Ethernet port. Run the ICS wizard, and Windows will assign the PS3 an IP address and share the Internet connection with it. So, there's your workaround. However, it's MUCH easier, and in everyone's best interest to have a router installed between your gear and the Internet.

From my understanding, you CAN connect to the internet using a USB cord through the PS3 but the PS3 is NOT a Wireless Router Station. So if you are trying to connect wireless through the PS3 I doubt it, but I could be wrong.
